If there are 7,000 diagnosed cases, it means there are about 14,000 carriers: Prime Minister
In the country, there are thousands of carriers who do not even know that they are infected. This was announced today, on May 27, during a government meeting by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“Usually, only a portion of cases are revealed, approximately half. Therefore, if there are 7,000 diagnosed cases, it means there are 14,000 carriers. Of those 14,000, 90 percent do not know that they are infected. This is why wearing masks should become de facto mandatory. If our message about the de facto mandatory nature is not accepted, we will move to make it de jure mandatory in all places. That means we will make it mandatory that even if a person is sitting alone in a park with no one else within a 10-kilometer radius, they must wear a mask. In other words, if there is a person without a mask, they should be fined. We will make mask-wearing mandatory everywhere, without exception, even inside homes. This is, of course, an exaggeration, but we can decide that as soon as someone steps outside their house without a mask, they will be fined,” he said.
