Manvel Grigoryan Wants to Pay State Taxes and Fees

The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan, held a hearing today in the case of the former head of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union and former Armenian MP Manvel Grigoryan.

Grigoryan's lawyer requested the court to lift the freeze on the accounts of Grigoryan's company, Ara and Aytsemenik, so that they could pay off obligations related to the state budget, namely taxes and fees.

According to the lawyer, this concerns an amount of 41 million drams. Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan noted that no argument had been presented to the court regarding the 41 million drams, property tax, or tax obligations, and it is necessary to present all relevant documents.

Judge Martirosyan decided to postpone the resolution of the request and will discuss it when the relevant documents are submitted.

It is worth recalling that Manvel Grigoryan is accused of illegally holding weapons and ammunition, misappropriating property worth more than 101 million drams, evading tax payments exceeding 1 billion drams, misusing over 1 billion drams of state funds, and organizing the theft of property worth 37 million drams through extortion.
