First Thermometer, Then Tour: Tonoyan Attends Opening of Renovated, Equipped Hospital
Davit Tonoyan participated in the opening ceremony of the fully renovated and equipped hospital departments. The hospital's trauma, urology, and general surgery departments will now serve military personnel with health issues in new conditions, offering newly furnished patient rooms and recovery areas.
The head of the defense department toured the reopened departments, familiarizing himself with the completed works, the newly installed equipment, and ventilation systems. The renovation and equipping, carried out under the direct supervision of the Defense Minister, was completed in one phase, enabling a seamless transition to medical services.
By the Minister of Defense's order, three departments of the central clinical military hospital have been named after dedicated medical service members. The surgical department will now bear the name of Major Sergey Harutyunyan, the neurosurgery department will be named after Captain Karo Kheboyan, and the anesthesia department will be named after Lieutenant Tigran Hovhessyan. These medical personnel lost their lives while on duty during a helicopter crash on January 19, 2000.
During the tour, the head of the defense department visited injured soldiers, followed by a consultation at the hospital with the participation of the military medical service's leadership. The Minister of Defense addressed the fight against COVID-19 in the armed forces, the anti-epidemic measures being implemented in the troops, and upcoming plans. Questions regarding the provision of military medical services and ongoing work were also discussed.
