Video: Strong Winds Cause Significant Damage in Shirak Region, Governor Reports

Shirak Governor Tigran Petrosyan stated on his Facebook page: “The strong winds, which lasted for about half an hour, have caused considerable damage in more than ten communities in the Shirak region. Mainly, roofs of private houses and apartment buildings have been damaged, and there are uprooted trees; fortunately, there are no human casualties.”

He added that the personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, representatives of the community administrations, and utility service staff are currently engaged in cleaning up, restoring electrical connections, and assessing the damages. Community leaders of the affected areas have been instructed to form commissions on-site and report the assessed damages to the governor’s office.

It is also worth noting that the roof of building 66 on Shirakatsi Street in Gyumri has been damaged due to the strong winds. The wind has torn rooftops off houses and uprooted trees.
