Trial Session for 'Sasna Tsrer' Postponed
The trial session regarding the 'Sasna Tsrer' case was postponed today, May 20, in the Shengavit Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, presided over by Judge Mesrop Makyan.
The postponement was due to the absence of six defendants. The lawyers for the defendants had submitted a request to the court asking for the session to be delayed as their clients are part of a vulnerable group due to the pandemic conditions. Present at the session were only Pavel Manukyan, Armen Bilyan, and Smbat Barseghyan.
However, Judge Mesrop Makyan deemed the requests unfounded and noted that all necessary conditions for conducting a safe trial session were met in the courtroom. “The court notes that all defendants had been properly notified. Their absence is unjustifiable, and based on Article 153 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the court decides to bring the defendants Varujan Avetisyan, Mkhitar Avetisyan, Eduard Grigoryan, Gagik Eghiazaryan, Arayik Kyureghyan, and Sedrak Nazaryan to the next trial session by police,” stated Makyan.
The next trial session is scheduled for May 27 at 11:00 AM.
