Now is Not the Best Time to Talk About Gas Price Increases Amid Collapse of Energy Markets and Oil Price Drop
Our political consultations on this topic continue, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a press conference regarding the gas price issue. “At this moment, unfortunately, I cannot say anything specific, but we must also note that in the context of the collapse of energy markets and the drop in oil prices, we can expect from our strategic partner, Russia, that now is not the best time to talk about gas price increases—especially considering the coronavirus and the problems it has brought,” he said.
Regarding the obstacles in Armenian-Russian relations, we have a very rich agenda, and by resolving the issues on that agenda, we move forward,” Pashinyan added, noting that some bilateral issues might be resolved in the best possible way, while others may require a compromise solution.
