Former High-Ranking Official's Family Donates $28 Million to Artsakh, Says Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan
During a press conference today, a journalist asked Nikol Pashinyan about the discrepancy in the figures restored to the budget as a result of uncovering corruption crimes. The prime minister referred to his statement that approximately $105 million had been restored to the budget due to corruption crimes in the period following the revolution. However, the figures provided by the Prosecutor's Office and the National Security Service were entirely different.
“The account of a former high-ranking official’s family had been discovered, which contained $28 or $30 million. Later, due to circumstances, that money, as far as I remember, was donated to the Republic of Artsakh and was used for military, defense, and security needs. This has restored the state through a different procedure, and this is the reason for the discrepancy in the figures,” the prime minister responded.
