Rafael Zakaryan to Carry Out Duties of the Head of the State Oversight Service
The duties of the Head of the State Oversight Service of Armenia have been carried out by the Deputy Head Rafael Zakaryan since May 5, 2020, as reported by the Service.
Rafael Zakaryan was born on May 30, 1986, in Yerevan. He studied at Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex from 1993 to 2003. From 2003 to 2008, he attended the Armenian State University of Economics, obtaining a qualification as an economist.
From 2008 to 2009, he worked at Radfin LLC as an economist. From 2009 to 2010, he was employed in the interests protection department of Inecobank. Between 2011 and 2016, he worked in the Tax Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance of Armenia, first as a junior specialist and then as a leading specialist.
From 2016 to 2018, he served in the Organization and Control Department of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, initially as the chief tax inspector and later as deputy head of the department. In 2018-2019, he worked as a tax advisor at KPMG Armenia, an international audit and consulting firm.
He was appointed as the Deputy Head of the State Oversight Service by the decision of the Prime Minister of Armenia on February 12, 2019. Zakaryan is married and has two children.
