I Have Tested Positive for COVID-19, I Started Feeling Feverish on May 2 – Assistant to the MP
Unfortunately, I have tested positive for COVID-19. I started feeling feverish on May 2. This was announced today, May 6, by Khnarik Harutyunyan, the assistant to MP Nazeli Baghdasaryan, on her Facebook page.
She specifically noted: "The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, announced that there is a confirmed case within the staff. This is about me. I see no problem in disclosing this, especially since some media outlets have already spread incorrect information without my consent. Unfortunately, I have tested positive for COVID-19, yesterday. I started feeling feverish on May 2. As some media outlets are reporting that I have been feverish for a long time, that is not true. Believe me, I understand the extent of my responsibility, and besides, you all know very well that there is daily temperature measurement in the National Assembly. Even if I had a strong desire, I would not have been able to enter the National Assembly building with a fever; they wouldn't have allowed me.
As I mentioned, I started feeling feverish on May 2, Saturday, and I informed my direct supervisor about it. We decided that I would not attend work until we clarify the reasons. The last time I was at work was on April 30, Thursday. At that time, I could not have suspected that I might have already been infected.
Next, several media outlets wrote that I participated INTENSIVELY in the meeting of the State-Legal Commission. I was in the hall for about 5-10 minutes, and a recording exists. How I got infected: there was contact on April 28 and 29 with a person who was already carrying the virus. At that moment, of course, COVID-19 had not yet been confirmed in that individual. When I started feeling feverish on Saturday, I self-isolated and then sought medical assistance. Physically, I am doing well, mentally I am stressed. The illness is passing lightly, without significant complications. I want to thank all the doctors; you are fantastic. Stay healthy!"
