Government Cleans Credit Histories of 125,000 People, Yet 75% Worsen Their Credit Records: Prime Minister

The government does not intend to provide selitra and diesel fuel to farmers, as it offers the same amount in the form of agricultural loans, allowing them to spend that loan as they wish. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement today in the National Assembly.

MP Armen Yeghiazaryan opposed this, stating that most farmers cannot benefit from this financing due to their credit history. In response, the Prime Minister addressed the issue of cleaning credit histories.

He recalled that in 2018, the government initiated the clearing of 125,000 individuals' credit histories, removing them from the “black list.” However, according to Pashinyan, 75% of those individuals later worsened their credit history by taking out larger loans.

“Did we do that person a favor or a disservice? Previously, they were in the 'black list' with a debt of 100,000 drams, now they are in the black list with a debt of 300,000 drams,” said Pashinyan.
