If There is No Will to Reform, the Reform Will Not Happen, Edmon Marukyan
It turns out that there are no systemic reforms being made, but according to their narrow interests, they are finding ways to circumvent the law. This was stated by Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, on his Facebook page.
"Many are telling us to help the authorities move the country forward. For over a year, we have been bringing project proposals, keeping in mind the existing and future problems. The authorities reject the extended hand, after which they face our criticism. The same people who were asking for help are now questioning why we are criticizing and obstructing. Help us, do not obstruct; and at that moment, you realize that no matter how much help we provide, if there is no will to reform, that reform will not happen. All our criticisms are unique contributions to the governing team, but unfortunately, there is no understanding of that either.
Today, everyone remembered how the authorities derailed our project regarding appointments outside the system for senior positions in the National Security Service and Police. It turns out that there are no systemic reforms being made, but according to their narrow interests, they are finding ways to circumvent the law," he wrote.
