Which Buildings Will Be Demolished First? Cleaning the Shores of Lake Sevan
The cleaning of buildings in the coastal areas of Lake Sevan is entering a practical phase. This has been reported by the Ministry of Environment. An inter-agency working group established by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has completed the inventory work on buildings located at an elevation of up to 1901.5 meters, including state, community, and private structures.
The total area of state and community buildings subject to dismantling or demolition exceeds 4,900 square meters, while the total area of private structures slated for demolition has surpassed 68,000 square meters. The first phase involves the dismantling of buildings that are state and community property. To this end, a competition has been announced for the procurement of project and budget documentation for the dismantling (demolition) of submerged state and community buildings along the shores of Lake Sevan.
Information about participating in the competition can be found through this link. For the demolition of private buildings located at elevations up to 1901.5 meters, notifications have been sent to the owners, advising them to carry out the demolition work independently. If this requirement is not fulfilled in accordance with the established legal procedure, the work will be carried out at the expense of public funds, with the condition that these funds will subsequently be recouped from the private owners.
