Discipline Prevails in Georgia: Armenian Ambassador Provides Details

Starting from April 27, Georgia will gradually lift the restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus. Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, Ruben Sadoyan, made this statement during a remote parliamentary discussion organized by the Permanent Commission on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia on the topic "COVID-19. Regional Situation, Challenges, and Potential Developments," according to Armenpress.

“Currently, there are 496 infected individuals in Georgia, with 6 fatalities, and 5,000 people in quarantine. Discipline prevails in Georgia. According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, the restrictions on economic activities will be lifted gradually, starting April 27, with each phase lasting for two weeks. Should the situation worsen, it is possible that restrictions may be reinstated,” Sadoyan stated.

The ambassador noted that currently, Armenia conducts several times more tests than Georgia, and in terms of the number of fatalities, Georgia has one of the best indicators among European countries.
