Marukyan Meets with Chairman of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission on Utility Payments

The leader of the LHK, Edmon Marukyan, has met with the Chairman of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission, Garegin Baghramyan, regarding utility payments.

"Today, I met with Mr. Baghramyan to express our and countless citizens' concerns about the statement that the force majeure situation preventing the fulfillment of payment obligations for utility services is considered to have ended. Mr. Baghramyan informed me that in that statement, the commission also indicated that regardless of whether the force majeure situation is considered to have ended in the country or not, each consumer can address the utility service provider, claiming that non-payment is a consequence of the force majeure situation as per the contract, and request not to suspend the services provided. Moreover, according to Mr. Baghramyan, this process will be under the oversight of the Public Services Regulatory Commission.

Therefore, those who are unable to pay for utility services due to pandemic or emergency restrictions can apply to the gas supply, energy supply, or other relevant public service provider, and in case of receiving a denial, they can file a complaint with the PSRC in writing or through the hotline (010)584529," Marukyan wrote on his Facebook page.
