Condition of 10 COVID-19 Patients Critical; 5 on Ventilators, Says Minister

Currently, the condition of 10 COVID-19 patients is critical. This was announced today, on April 23, during a government meeting by Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan.

“Approximately 230 people have pneumonia, and 5 are on ventilators. Only one of them is relatively young—27 years old—but has a severe chronic congenital disease. The doctors are doing everything to stabilize their condition, and there seems to be hope that they can save their lives.

I can also say that the rate of increase is approximately the same when we divide the number of new cases by the total number of cases. In terms of bed occupancy, the burden is not such that we would discuss moving to another option. We still have time to hospitalize everyone and to keep many mild cases in hotel conditions.

However, in light of the new permission for economic activities, we must not lose our vigilance again. We have no reason to relax,” said the minister.
