Lavrov on the Possibility of Reducing Gas Prices for Yerevan and Minsk
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that allies should certainly receive economic advantages, but given that prices have reached their current levels, it is essential to consider specific contractual obligations. He made these remarks in response to a question about why Russia has not reduced gas prices for EAEU member countries, unlike some other countries that are not part of the union.
Lavrov noted that Moscow had previously received proposals for reducing gas prices. “I am confident that during the consideration of these requests, which have recently come from both our partners in Belarus and Armenia, our allied relations will be taken into account. In any case, it is not correct to recall this when the situation is the exact opposite of what it was 3-4 years ago,” Lavrov stated.
