No Student with High Academic Achievement Will Be Expelled Due to Tuition Fees
Discussions regarding measures to neutralize the consequences of the coronavirus continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Today, new proposals were presented at a meeting focused on various support measures for the education sector, particularly aimed at aiding students and universities.
The issues discussed included mechanisms for compensating semester tuition fees for students with high academic performance, as well as subsidizing student loans. Emphasizing the importance of this support, the Prime Minister stated that no student with high academic achievement would be expelled from university due to tuition fees, and the government will assist students as much as possible.
Nikol Pashinyan instructed to refine the proposal based on the discussions and present a final version. The meeting also summarized the current results of 13 measures approved by the government, addressing issues arising during the implementation of programs and the solutions provided.
The Prime Minister instructed officials to continue taking necessary actions to quickly resolve issues, ensure the smooth progression of measures, and fully provide the intended support to beneficiaries.
Discussions also exchanged ideas on expanding the circle of those in need of social assistance. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of continuous work towards fully uncovering socially vulnerable groups and issued corresponding directives.
A number of ideas related to encouraging the activities of entrepreneurs were also discussed.
