State Revenue Committee Clarifies Issues Raised by MP Arkadi Khachatryan
The State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia has provided clarifications regarding the questions raised by MP Arkadi Khachatryan regarding the tenth measure aimed at mitigating the economic repercussions of the coronavirus.
According to the decision of the RA government, within the framework of the tenth measure aimed at neutralizing the economic consequences of the coronavirus, support is planned for micro-entrepreneurs, including both those with the status of individual entrepreneurs or resident commercial organizations, as well as those who do not qualify as individual entrepreneurs.
The support is intended for micro-entrepreneurs who were part of family businesses, self-employed individuals, or individuals who do not qualify as individual entrepreneurs during the past year. Generally, non-individual entrepreneur micro-enterprises are not required to use cash registers according to the RA tax code. For them, the government has established one-time support in the amount of the monthly minimum wage, which does not depend on their turnover. Therefore, there are no risks of reducing the support amount due to undeclared revenues for this group of taxpayers.
As for micro-entrepreneurs with the status of individual entrepreneurs or resident commercial organizations, the support amount has been set at 10% of their turnover for the first quarter of 2020, but not less than 10,000 drams and not more than double the monthly minimum wage. Considering that not all individual entrepreneurs or organizations have had the opportunity to use cash registers, the government has decided that those who applied for the acquisition of cash registers through the Committee’s “Register of Cash Register Machines” state non-commercial organization but have not activated new generation cash registers in the Committee's information repository will receive additional one-time support equal to the minimum monthly wage.
