«Hraparak»: Preparations Made for Serzh Sargsyan's Visit to the National Assembly
Today, alongside the regular session of the National Assembly, the commission investigating the April War will hear the third president, Serzh Sargsyan. We asked Vahan Kostanyan, assistant to Ararat Mirzoyan, what procedural issues have been resolved in connection with the meeting.
“The employees of the President's Security Service have come to the National Assembly and have discussed the necessary issues with the National Assembly's security staff; all problems have been resolved,” he stated.
From which entrance will the “former officials” enter the building? “Through the President of the National Assembly's entrance.” Will vehicles be allowed into the National Assembly's territory? “Yes.” Will the President of the National Assembly receive the third president? “There is no agreement in that regard.” Will you welcome him? “Yes, a representative of the commission will.”
Serzh Sargsyan is scheduled to give an interview to journalists before the session; how have you organized that? “We have not conducted any organizational work in that regard, nor has there been any request related to this issue.” With regard to journalists, I was referring to social distancing. “It is assumed that the security service will regulate that issue.” The head of the investigative commission has stated that they do not see a problem, and just a day before the meeting, the commission members will undergo coronavirus testing—have they undergone it? “None of the commission members had any health complaints, thus they did not see a need for testing within the commission,” the newspaper reports.
