Third COVID-19 Infected Citizen Transferred from Artsakh to Armenia
The third confirmed case of a citizen infected with COVID-19 in Artsakh, who is a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, has been transferred to Armenia. This was reported by the Artsakh information headquarters.
According to the interdepartmental commission coordinating measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in Artsakh, the self-isolated communities of Mirik, Moshatagh, and Tsitsernavank in Kashatagh will soon be provided with necessary food supplies. The Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, and Resettlement of the Artsakh Republic has already provided 15 days of food supplies to Mirik community, while other communities will receive their allocations in the coming days.
The Emergency Situations State Service is conducting disinfection operations in the aforementioned communities, while the Armenian National Center for Disease Control and Prevention is further identifying all groups in contact with the infected individuals, performing disinfection in local residents' homes and public facilities, as well as providing hygiene supplies.
The Ministry of Health reports that the health condition of the two tested citizens is normal, and they do not exhibit symptoms characteristic of the infection. Currently, four citizens are isolated in healthcare facilities (Kashatagh Medical Center) due to confirmed cases of COVID-19; they include the wife of the first infected individual, her two children, and the father of her husband. Their health is also assessed as normal, and they show no symptoms related to the infection.
As for the third confirmed COVID-19 infected citizen, who is a Republic of Armenia citizen, they have been transferred to Armenia. This individual did not stop in any settlement in Artsakh, and their contact circle mainly consists of individuals from Armenia. The medical personnel who interacted with them at the border checkpoint were equipped with protective gear. Their self-isolation was carried out by healthcare workers who were dressed in appropriate protective clothing. The citizen was placed in a separate location designated for self-isolation and was provided with necessary food supplies and hygiene items.
The Ministry of Health is providing round-the-clock medical services in the self-isolated communities. To avoid false and unverified news, we again urge everyone to follow the official news presented by the information headquarters of the interdepartmental commission coordinating measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in the Artsakh Republic.
