VIDEO: We Must Double Our Efforts to Break the Rate to Prevent Widespread Transmission Risk, Torosyan

“Yesterday we recorded only 11 new confirmed cases of coronavirus throughout the day.” This was announced today during a Facebook Live session by Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan.

“This is a positive development in itself, but it should prompt us to continue our collective measures to maintain that number and achieve even lower figures. The minister advised not to think that everything is behind us and that there is no need to worry. “We must double or even triple our efforts to flatten the curve and break the rate, so that we can maintain this positive result for a long time, until we are confident that the risk of widespread transmission is eliminated. If we look at the daily percentage numbers, then in the past three days, there has been this percentage increase of 4.6%, 6.8%, and the last day was 1.3%.”

According to Torosyan, the current challenge is to reduce that rate as much as possible so that in Armenia, the rate of remote doubling is such that previously confirmed cases are discharged from hospitals and new cases fit within the hospital bed fund.
