Senior Officials Will Not Receive Bonuses in March, Funds Will Be Allocated for Coronavirus Fight: Pashinyan
“By my decision, senior officials will not receive bonuses in March, and those funds will be used to combat the coronavirus,” stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a live broadcast on his Facebook page.
However, the Prime Minister emphasized that the issue of officials' bonuses is frequently mentioned. He calculated that approximately one billion drams are allocated annually for this purpose. If that amount were distributed to pensioners in Armenia, each pensioner's monthly payment would only increase by 165 drams.
He noted that in 2020, pensions had already been increased by 24 times more than that 165 drams. According to Pashinyan, bonuses are used to address other issues, specifically to ensure the salary increases for other individuals.
