Government Mostly Zeroes Out Agricultural Loan Interest Rates: Prime Minister
During a live broadcast where he answered citizens' questions, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to a user who claimed that farmers are unable to start agricultural work because banks are not providing loans. Pashinyan stated that the government is currently implementing anti-crisis measures in the agricultural sector.
According to Pashinyan, the government has zeroed out agricultural loan interest rates, and the same applies to micro-loans. He noted that there are also queues for obtaining loans at banks, and he has been informed that social distancing is not being maintained.
The Prime Minister mentioned that loans of up to 1 million drams are being provided, and once the allocated funds for the loans are exhausted, the government will offer new resources for financing.
On the other hand, according to Pashinyan, other anti-crisis measures are also being implemented, which subsidize the creation of intelligent barns, drip irrigation gardens, and other agricultural infrastructures.
