COVID-19: Nearly 230,000 People Have Recovered Worldwide; Death Toll Exceeds 59,000
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has reached 1,118,046. According to data from research centers focused on the coronavirus, the death toll has surpassed 59,000, with more than 229,150 individuals reported to have recovered.
The United States leads in the number of infections with 277,475 confirmed cases and a death toll exceeding 7,400. Italy follows closely with a total of 119,827 infections and 14,681 fatalities.
Spain ranks third with 119,199 confirmed cases and 11,198 deaths. Germany, with 91,159 cases, reports 1,275 deaths, while France has 82,165 cases and 6,507 fatalities.
In the country where the outbreak began, China, there are 81,639 confirmed cases and only 19 new cases reported. Since the onset of the outbreak, 3,326 people have died.
Iran reports a total of 53,183 confirmed cases and 3,294 deaths. The United Kingdom has 38,168 confirmed cases, turkey reports 20,921, and Switzerland has 19,606.
In Georgia, there are 155 confirmed cases of the virus, while Russia has reported 4,149 cases. According to the World Health Organization, the number of countries and territories reporting COVID-19 infections has reached 204.
