Azerbaijani Side Attempts to Destabilize Situation at the Border: MoD Spokesperson

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, wrote on her Facebook page: “Azerbaijani official information platforms are spreading absolutely false and fabricated information about the situation at the border. The State Border Service of Azerbaijan disseminated similar unfounded information on April 1 and again on April 3, claiming that Armenian armed forces units opened fire towards Azerbaijani villages, positions, vehicles, and citizens of the Republic of Artsakh engaged in agricultural work.

Thus, the Azerbaijani side is attempting to conceal its own actions aimed at destabilizing the situation at the border. Such informational preparatory work was conducted prior to the failed diversionary infiltration attempt on March 30. We reaffirm that the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is calm. The Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia will take only appropriate measures.”
