Checkpoints to Operate on Vardenyats Pass, Sotk-Karvajar, Sevan-Yerevan Road Sections Towards Tavush Province
The Governor of Gegharkunik Province, Gnel Sanosyan, made a post on Facebook announcing that, according to the new directive of the commandant, restrictions on movement and certain types of economic activities under emergency conditions have been extended from 2:00 PM on April 1 until April 12 inclusive.
“Starting from 2:00 PM today, checkpoints will be established on all roads entering the province: at Vardenyats Pass, the Sotk-Karvajar section, the Sevan-Yerevan road, as well as towards Tavush Province, and in designated localities. Staff from the Police of the Republic of Armenia, Military Police, and National Security Service, along with employees from the Gegharkunik provincial administration, local governments, and health regional bodies, will support these checkpoints.
The reasons for citizens' movement are being clarified, and temperature checks and other necessary actions are being conducted. To carry out these measures in a more regulated manner and to limit the movement of the population, the corresponding bodies are working in cooperation, according to the established procedure,” wrote Gnel Sanosyan.
