74-Year-Old Man Dies in Gyumri Due to Lung Issues: Details
A 74-year-old man has died in Gyumri, where he was suffering from a respiratory illness. The man was taken by ambulance to the Gyumri medical center the day before, and after an outpatient examination, he was referred to a polyclinic.
The polyclinic informed NEWS.am that the hospital had advised conducting lung tests, which were completed, revealing that there was fluid in the man’s right lung. Furthermore, the man had been experiencing coughing. The hospital later disclosed that the man had suffered several heart attacks in the past.
The exact cause of death is currently unknown and will be determined after an autopsy. It has been noted that there were media reports suggesting a suspicion of coronavirus in the case.
Health Ministry spokesperson Alina Nikoghosyan posted on Facebook, indicating that to date, there have been no recorded deaths from coronavirus in Armenia. “As of now, there have been no confirmed deaths due to coronavirus in Armenia. We urge politik.am not to disseminate unverified information that contradicts official data. The Ministry of Health has been working transparently, and to the delight of all, no deaths have been recorded in Armenia until this moment. We assure that any information, whether good or bad, will be published officially by the Ministry of Health,” she wrote.
