Currently, No Foreign Citizens Can Travel to Russia
During a Q&A session between the National Assembly and the Government, Ani Samsonyan, a member of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, noted that the closure of the Armenia-Russia borders has created issues for Armenian citizens who are going to work in Russia. She inquired whether there are negotiations underway to allow these citizens to cross the border.
Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan responded that, at this time, there is a state of emergency in all countries. 'Every country provides solutions based on its own evaluations, just as we offer framework solutions for various problems. Right now, we have a situation where other citizens cannot travel to Russia. I cannot say what developments will occur, but at this moment, no foreign citizen can travel to Russia,' the minister stated.
Samsonyan reacted by mentioning that Armenia and Russia are part of the EAEU common area, and she was trying to understand whether there are alternative options. The minister replied that given the rapidly changing and new situation, discussions are new as well, and the issue will undoubtedly be on the agenda.
