Pashinyan Assures That All Information Regarding Coronavirus is Published Transparently
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, assures that the government is publishing all information related to coronavirus in an operational and transparent manner, although he is not certain that all countries adhere to this principle. Pashinyan expressed this opinion during an interview with Shant TV.
“We publish all information happening on our end honestly and openly, based on data that is 1, at most 2 hours old. The question is, are we confident that all countries in the world are publishing their data with the same transparency and accuracy? To be honest, when I look at the statistics, I am not very confident that all countries follow this rule. And risks arise for us,” he stated, assuring that Armenia is, in fact, one of the countries in the best condition in all respects, at least up to this point.
Pashinyan emphasized that it is very important for the government that the public remains confident. He noted that there are no rumors related to coronavirus in Armenia, and the public trusts that the government will convey the information. The Prime Minister also considered public confidence to be an important component of security but acknowledged that, of course, transparency, honesty, and fairness can bring risks.
