Restrictions on Public Events to be Imposed Nationwide Starting March 17 at 12:00 PM - Avinyan
The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Avinyan, stated: "Based on the government's decision to declare a state of emergency, I have decided to extend the provisions of the 'Restrictions and prohibitions on holding gatherings or public events' clause to the entire territory of the Republic of Armenia starting March 17 at 12:00 PM. This pertains to the prohibition of organizing, holding, and participating in public events.
For the purpose of this decision, public events include gatherings with the participation of 20 or more individuals, such as:
- concerts, exhibitions, screenings, theatrical performances, and other sporting, cultural, and educational events,
- entertainment activities,
- ceremonial and memorial events, including, but not limited to, birthday (anniversary), wedding (engagement), memorial services, and funeral events.
I should note that in the case of memorial services and funerals, we will try to provide slightly broader opportunities for participation while ensuring that there are no crowding of people during the ceremony."
