VIDEO. Crowded Divine Liturgy at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Yerevan Despite Authorities' Warnings
While the Coronavirus Prevention Commission is discussing the organization of remote work for state institution employees, crowded divine liturgies are being held in churches, reports Hetq.am.
Today, on the fourth Sunday of Great Lent, known as "Sunday of the Economus," a liturgy was held at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Yerevan. It was rare to see citizens wearing masks. Believers approached and sought blessings from the clergy.
Yesterday, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan called for the avoidance of religious ceremonies. “I urge our citizens and all religious organizations to refrain from mass ceremonies by canceling them until the complete elimination of the epidemic threat. The health of individuals takes precedence over everything,” the minister stated.
