Police Urges Citizens to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus
The Police of Armenia has issued a statement aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus. The statement reads,
“Dear Citizens,
Considering that health officials have provided clear instructions for health preservation, including avoiding crowded places, we request and urge you to:
- Visit the Passport and Visa Department or its subdivisions alone for passport-related activities, without accompanying individuals. Sometimes, due to a lack of awareness of the legislation, a parent presents their child together with them for obtaining a passport for a child under 16 years old, registering in the state population registry, or obtaining public service numbers. It is not necessary to bring the child along or to provide justification that there is no one at home to care for the child. Any passport-related action for a child under 16 can be performed without the child’s mandatory presence. Therefore, please refrain from bringing children when visiting passport services.
- Visit the administrative buildings of the Passport and Visa Department and other subdivisions only when absolutely necessary.
- We also inform you that, apart from cases of obtaining a passport and applying for Armenian citizenship, all other actions can also be performed through an authorized person. Therefore, one individual can apply not only for themselves, their family members, relatives, or close acquaintances but also for other individuals with the presence of a public written authorization.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding in this matter. Protecting public health is a common responsibility for all of us.”
