New Construction Permit Granted in Circular Park: Khajakyan

David Khajakyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the 'Lus' faction, posted on his Facebook page along with a related photo, revealing that a construction permit has been issued by the Mayor of Yerevan for the area at the end of the Circular Park, across from the Armenian State Pedagogical University.

The council member's post reads: "Four months ago, I noticed construction activities at the Circular Park in front of the Pedagogical University. I approached, took a picture of the project, and remembered that it was happening in the former ‘Bochka’ area. I couldn't recall whether it was indeed based on concrete or not, but I decided not to raise the issue. True, it turns out that a new construction permit has been issued in the park, but I already predicted that the My Step Alliance members would comment that this is the fault of the previous administration, and they simply issued a new construction permit for the same area.">

“Today, a citizen called and expressed dissatisfaction about this construction. They were asking how it is possible that on television, they declare the liberation of green spaces, while in reality, they are granting new construction permits within the park. I hope that when the Mayor returns to Armenia, he will address this question."
