St. Peter's Basilica to Close for Tourists
St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City will be closed to tourists starting March 10, as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus. This was announced by the press office of the Holy See.
"In accordance with the guidelines provided by Italian authorities, a number of additional measures aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus have been put into effect. As of today, St. Peter's Square and the basilica will be closed for excursions and tourists," the statement reads.
