Italy Implements Special Entry and Exit Regime in Several Regions Due to Coronavirus
In response to measures aimed at curbing the spread of the new type of coronavirus, the Italian government has implemented a special entry and exit regime in the Lombardy region, as well as in several municipalities of Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, and Piedmont provinces, effective from March 8 to April 3. This information was shared via a Facebook post by the Armenian Embassy in Italy.
“Dear citizens, we inform you that, as part of measures to contain the spread of the new type of coronavirus, the Italian government has decided to enforce a special entry and exit regime from March 8 to April 3 in Lombardy, as well as in several municipalities of Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, and Piedmont (Parma, Piacenza, Rimini, Reggio-Emilia, Modena, Pesaro e Urbino, Venice, Padua, Treviso, Alessandria, Novara, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Vercelli, and Asti),” the statement reads.
“Specifically, entry and exit from these areas will only be possible for work-related necessities, special needs, and emergencies. Across Italy, museums, theaters, and cinemas will be closed. Additionally, activities of all types of educational institutions will be suspended in 'safety zones', and public places, ski slopes, swimming pools, and gyms will be closed. Sports, cultural, educational, and other events will be postponed,” the announcement added.
