Coronavirus in China: Death Toll Exceeds 3000

In China, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surpassed 80,500. This was announced on March 5 by the State Committee for Hygiene and Health of the People's Republic of China.

According to data received from 31 provinces, a total of 80,552 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed, including 23,784 individuals who are currently ill (5,737 of whom are in serious condition). A total of 53,726 persons have been discharged from hospitals, while 3,042 have died.

In the past 24 hours, 143 new cases have been identified in the republic, and 30 individuals have died (29 in Hubei and one in Hainan).
