Protest Action: Tourist Minibuses Removed from Republic Square

Tourist minibuses parked in Republic Square are being removed from the area. The drivers are currently staging a protest in front of the Yerevan City Hall. “If a person is deprived of their workplace, there should at least be some plan, job offers, and a space provided. For ten years we have been working in this section of the republic, taking tourists to all the sights; now we don’t know what’s happening, and they want to remove us from Republic Square,” the drivers stated during an interview with reporters. “We have suggested that they allocate us a space within the square, and we are even willing to pay taxes,” they added.
