Snow Falls in Syunik, Lars Closed: Roads in Armenia Affected

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of March 2 at 14:54, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads throughout Armenia.

The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kʽari Lake in the Aragatsotn province will remain closed indefinitely.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers and difficult to traverse for other vehicles. The Sotk-Karvachar road is impassable for all types of vehicles.

In the Syunik province, it is currently snowing. In the section known as Saravan-'Zanger', there is a snowstorm and fog.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles.

According to reports from the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry in North Ossetia, there are 485 trucks and 82 passenger cars accumulated on the Russian side.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
