Roads Closed and Difficult to Navigate in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 29 at 11:00, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.
The roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn region will remain closed for an indefinite period.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks, while it is difficult to navigate for other vehicles. There are patches of black ice on the Sotk-Karvachar road.
According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' North Ossetia crisis management center, the Stephantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
According to the information from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' North Ossetia crisis management center, there is a backlog of 400 trucks on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
