MP Arman Babajanyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Last night, at the age of 96, the People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia, actor Ervand Manaryan, passed away. The master was not only one of the talented actors and artists of our time but also an intellectual in the most extensive sense of the word. For over two decades, Ervand Manaryan has consistently been by the people's side, actively participating in almost all political and civil events. He never hesitated to express his intellectual opinion on the illegal actions of the ruling authorities and the oppression of the people. This is precisely what made Ervand Manaryan a true People’s Artist—not merely by title, but for his bravery in standing alongside the people and voicing their concerns.

I extend my condolences to the family members, relatives, friends, and admirers of his art. To all of us.”
