Turkey Must Work on Armenian Issue 365 Days a Year: Erdoğan's Adviser

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's chief advisor, professor Seyit Sertçelik, known for his expertise on the Armenian issue, has delivered yet another lecture promoting the denialist theses surrounding the Armenian Genocide. This time, he spoke at an event titled "The Background and Realities of the Armenian Issue" held at the Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality in Istanbul, as reported by Ermenihaber.

Sertçelik, who is one of the coordinators of denialist state theses, presented Turkish arguments on the issue once again, stating that the deportation of Armenians occurred because they collaborated with the Russians during wartime and did everything against the Ottoman Empire.

The advisor emphasized that the Armenian issue is a theme on which Turkey should work 365 days a year, rather than limiting efforts to just April 24. He noted that, besides the field of historical research, the Turkish side should also produce films and documentaries on this topic, for which they currently lack sufficient funding.

Earlier, Erdoğan also spoke about the necessity of intensifying denialist efforts, indicating plans to expand activities with a new toolkit. It is worth mentioning that Sertçelik's previous lecture took place a month ago in Kahramanmaraş (historical Marash), where a conference titled “The Armenian Issue and Its Historical Background” was organized to promote denialist theses on the genocide.
