Narek Samsonyan Summoned by Pre-Trial Investigative Body: Anti-Corruption Committee

The Anti-Corruption Committee reports that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the apparent abuse of official functions by officials. Based on the January 26, 2020 Facebook post by Narek Samsonyan, president of the 'Civil Consciousness' NGO, materials have been prepared in the Special Investigative Service of Armenia concerning the alleged unlawful orders given to certain officials of the RA State Revenue Committee and their apparent abuse of official positions.

During the preparation of these materials, Narek Samsonyan was summoned by the pre-trial investigative body to provide an explanation, but he refused to appear. Based on the prepared materials, a criminal case was initiated on January 30, 2020, under the characteristics of Article 308, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing,” the statement said.
