LIVE: Livestock Farmers Block Roads
Livestock farmers, dissatisfied with the mandatory slaughterhouse requirements that came into effect on January 15, are staging a protest in the Armavir and Ararat regions. According to a NEWS.am correspondent, several dozen villagers have blocked the Yerevan-Ararat and Yerevan-Armir roads. The media reports that the situation is tense in the Ararat region, where the governor Garik Sargsyan has arrived to meet with the protesters.
A protest is also taking place near the village of Mrgashat in the Armavir region, where a large police presence has been deployed.
