Video. No Protest Inside the Hospital, There Is One Outside: Director of Yeghvard Hospital
As previously reported, the maternity hospital in Yeghvard, Kotayk Province, is set to be dissolved. Medical staff at the maternity hospital are conducting a protest against its closure.
The staff state that the number of births recorded in the facility has increased by 17 over the course of a year, with the latest figure reaching 139.
It is worth noting that the Yeghvard Nairi Medical Center serves the urban areas of Yeghvard and Nor Hachn, along with 16 rural communities.
Auroranews contacted the director of the Nairi Medical Center, Armen Nazaryan, who shared that there is no protest occurring inside the hospital, only outside, and it is not affecting the normal operations of the hospital.
Nazaryan mentioned that the hospital has not received any official notification regarding the closure of the maternity ward. “We are engaged in preparatory work to ensure a smooth transfer of births. I am concerned about the closure of the maternity ward, but in this case, the priority is the health condition of the mother; she must be under high-quality medical supervision,” Nazaryan stated.
