Human Rights Defender Launches Investigation into Closure of Maternity Hospitals in Yeghvard and Achajur
The Human Rights Defender has initiated an investigation regarding the cessation of funding for maternity services in Yeghvard and Achajur. Specifically, at the request of the Defender, the team has been examining complaints from citizens regarding the closure of these maternity hospitals, including concerns that the closure will hinder access to medical care.
Complaints from relevant medical personnel have also been reviewed. Considering these grievances, the Human Rights Defender has sent written inquiries to the Ministry of Health and the respective regional administrations. Clarifications have been requested regarding the government's proposed policies and principles in this area.
