Azerbaijani Singer Refuses to Perform with Armenian Singer Rouzan Mantashyan: Papyan
Opera singer Hasmik Papyan made a post on her Facebook page stating, "Azerbaijani by nationality, and soprano by status, the husband of Anna Netrebko, singer Yusif Eyvazov, has refused to perform with Armenian singer Rouzan Mantashyan at the opening ceremony of the annual Opera Ball in Dresden on February 7, citing her Armenian heritage, thus highlighting political considerations.
I have sung many times in this opera theater and cannot recall a similar incident. I am preparing to raise my voice in protest…" wrote Papyan.
