Video: Police Clarifies Message Regarding 'Sasna Tsrer'
On January 7, at 17:40, a report was received by the police department of Kanaker-Zeytun regarding a violation of public order by two individuals in front of one of the foreign diplomatic missions on Babayan Street. Police officers who arrived at the scene noticed two citizens, one of whom exhibited inappropriate behavior and shouted insults.
The police immediately responded and, after exhausting all methods of persuasion, carried out an administrative arrest. The man was taken to the Kanaker-Zeytun police station, where his identity was established, administrative arrest and violation reports were prepared, and documentation was initiated. The man brought to the station refused to give explanations, after which his sobriety was checked at the Republican Narcological Center. He was diagnosed with an alcohol intoxication level of 0.50 ml/l.
At the same time, the man reported to the police that someone in civilian clothing had slapped him at the station. At that moment, he was offered to file a report about the crime but refused, stating that he would not disclose anything without a lawyer present. Despite this, the investigation department of Kanaker-Zeytun police started preparing materials regarding the above statement.
The next day, on January 8, an ambulance was called, and the aforementioned man was taken to the Kanaker-Zeytun Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with a “possible fracture of the first toe phalanx on the right foot.” Upon the arrival of the operational group at the hospital, he again refused to report the injuries and provide an explanation, adding that he would come to the police with a lawyer in the morning.
On January 9, the man appeared at the Kanaker-Zeytun police department and reported that on January 7, police officers had used force against him, put handcuffs on him, during which they struck his legs and stood on his feet—details he did not disclose immediately after the incident, while reiterating that a person in civilian clothing had slapped him.
