Ukrainian Boeing Likely Shot Down by Iranian Army's Tor-M1 Missile System, Pentagon
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft belonging to "Ukrainian Airlines" was likely accidentally struck by the Iranian military using the Tor-M1 missile system, according to a senior Pentagon official, as reported by Newsweek.
The Pentagon believes that the incident was a mistake. A source at Reuters indicated that U.S. officials are considering several potential causes for the aviation disaster, including deliberate targeting.
It is worth noting that the Boeing 737-800, which was operating a flight from Tehran to Kyiv, crashed just two minutes after taking off from Imam Khomeini Airport. The tragedy resulted in the death of 176 people.
