Turkey Launches '1915.gov.tr' Website to Contest Armenian Genocide Claims
The Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate has taken another step towards denying the Armenian Genocide by creating a website named '1915.gov.tr', which operates in English. The site's purpose is to counter claims of the 'Armenian Genocide', as reported by Ermenihaber.
Fahrettin Altun, head of the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate, commented on the establishment of the new site, stating, 'This website will respond to the slander regarding the Armenian Genocide presented to us in the international arena, based on historical facts.'
The site includes sections such as 'Events of 1915', 'Official Declarations', 'Court Rulings', 'Armenian Terrorism', and 'Questions and Answers'.
It promotes various arguments put forth by the Turkish state regarding the denial of the Armenian Genocide, including ideas like 'leaving history to historians', 'opening archives', 'shared pain', 'mutual victims', and 'impeding Armenian-Turkish reconciliation through resolutions of third countries' parliaments.'
The website also features a dedicated section providing information about Turkish diplomats killed by the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA) during the period of 1975-1985.
