Regulation on Organ Transplantation in Effect
The Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia informs that as of December 3, 2019, the order N 56-N of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, issued on November 20, 2019, has come into effect. This order introduces amendments and supplements to the order of the Minister of Health from February 1, 2019, titled 'On Approving the Rules for the Collection and Transplantation of Organs and/or Tissues.'
In this regard, according to the regulations, it is within the authority of the Health and Labor Inspection Body to carry out oversight within its jurisdiction as stipulated by the Law of the Republic of Armenia on 'Transplanting Organs and/or Tissues of Humans', which includes the following responsibilities:
- a. Monitoring the collection, processing, and transplantation of organs and/or tissues;
- b. Overseeing the activities regarding the register of organ and tissue donors and recipients, as well as the registration and use of information;
- c. Granting permission for the collection of organs and/or tissues from deceased individuals.
